Arts & Tarts
Arts & Tarts (For Generous Hearts) is held on or near Valentine's Day to promote local artists and to raise money for the food shelf. Guests are invited bring a nonperishable food item, shop for art, and enjoy pie and coffee. Artists and Twin Cities TOSCA donate a percentage of their proceeds to a local food shelf.
Truffles & Duffles
Twin Cities TOSCA celebrated 10 years in business at the Marsh in Minnetonka, with a formal dinner, musical entertainment, awards for artists and arts organizations and duffle bags for each guest full of art and handmade goodies created by local artists. (See video at right)
William, Women & Weaving
Held on William Shakespeare’s birthday featuring Theatre Unbound, Calibanco Theatre and Marilyn Maiser of World Tapestry. This event was located at the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis with a luncheon served by the Club’s unsurpassable chefs.
Puccini, Pasta & Purses
Featuring local opera singer Margaret Houlton singing Puccini arias. Drs. Purseval and Kerry Tote were present to weigh and judge purses. This event took place at Marysburg Cafe in the historic warehouse district of Minneapolis. Click here to see An Ode to My Judge which was recited at the event
William, Wenches and Watches
Featuring The Hodge Podge Theatre presenting a scene from The Taming of the Shrew and Morris Park Players singing selected songs from Kiss Me Kate and a discussion about the use of time keeping devices during the time of William Shakespeare.
Shakespeare, Shoes and Champagne
Featuring The Starting Gate Theatre presenting a scene from King Lear.
Celebrating the contributions that Franks (such as Frank Sinatra, Frank Lloyd Wright, Frank Frazetta, Francis Ford Coppola and Frank Mars) have made to American culture, and featuring singer Henry Allen and Architect and Lecturer Richard Kronick.
Frost on Flowers
Held at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum featuring Henry Allen reciting Robert Frost poetry and artist Lauren Hildebrand discussing floral abstracts.
Fun, Funk & Fondue celebrating the 70’s culture.
Pagliacci, Pistachios & Pearls
Featuring soprano Margaret Houlton singing arias from Ruggero Leoncavallo’s famous opera, Pagliacci; LaDelia Szwed of Jewels & Jems discussing the history of pearls and Gail Weber discussing the unusual relationship between Pagliacci, pistachio and pearls.
