CT Artist of the Year 2011–2012
Penny Putnam’s paintings have often been described as joyful, upbeat and optimistic. They are abstract tapestries of sophisticated color and marks that celebrate the natural world with a nod to the unknown. Though hints of landscape can be seen in many of her paintings, they tease us to imagine something more profound captured in layers of rich pigment and mysterious textures.
Penny earned a degree in Art at the University of Florida and enjoyed a successful career in graphic design in New York City before becoming a full-time fine artist. Penny lives and works in Connecticut. Her paintings are included in numerous corporate and private collections. More of her work can be seen on her website.
